Chennai, August 26: Spoken English courses for public schools in Tamil Nadu, according to Minister of School Education, Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi.
Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyamozhi told the assembly that the former chief minister of AIADMK generously left the people’s tax money in vain because the photo was in a free binder reserved for public school students.
The Legislature today held a debate on the school education department’s grant application. In a subsequent response to Minister of Education, Anbil Mahesh Poyamoli, he said: “We are proud to be in this House, where the President is the correspondent and the Chief Minister is the DM.
He said the Rs 32,599.54 crore allocated to the school education department was taxpayer money and the chief minister had advised that it should be used properly for children’s wealth.
The chief minister said that one in six people we meet in Tamil Nadu is a student and this department should be treated with care. Noting that the recovery of the Centennial Anna Library was a huge task, the chief minister said the chief minister had asked him to visit and inspect the library on the first day of his tenure.
We will undertake the main task of increasing learning ability and reducing dropout. Although our students achieve high results, their learning ability is very low. We are the 23rd state in the country in terms of learning ability and the Chief Minister advised to bring it to 10th place. He said the teaching move was advertised at a cost of Rs 213.6 crore to improve learning ability.
In the past 10 years, 9 ministers were transferred to this department and played like a musical chair. When asked how to give grades to 12th grade students, the Chief Minister, who reviewed 18 recommendations and acted like a student, made an excellent decision. It was accepted by 8.20 lakh students and only 19 students requested reconsideration, the minister said.

When we consulted with the chief minister that 65 bags of lakh unemployed books bought for distribution to schoolchildren during the last regime contained photographs of former chief ministers of AIADMK, we said he could be replaced at a cost of Rs 13 crore. If it is Rs 13 crore taxpayer money, I will implement another program to benefit the students of the school. Dropping their picture in that satchel, he said he had given up on speaking generously.
School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyamozhi said that half an hour in the evening for students in grades 6-8 and spoken English classes for students in grades 9-12 are considered.
The President welcomed the progress of the spoken English classes to improve the ability of students in public schools to express themselves in English.
