The West Bengal School Education Department has issued detailed guidelines for the assessment of students in grades 1 through 9. The new guidelines will be applied by all public and private schools in the state.
The State School Education Department accepted the proposal presented by the Program Committee. Under the new guidelines, students can take the test or can complete the activity task assigned by school teachers. Officials from the state’s Department of Education ordered the entire process to be completed by the second week of December.
On Tuesday, the West Bengal School Education Department released a detailed document with instructions on how to assess students in grades 1 through 9. The guidelines indicated that the final assessment will be carried out based on the activity task that will take place in November. The department accepted the proposal presented by the program committee. The questionnaire has already been uploaded to Bangla Education Portal.
The guidelines state: “The first and second class exams will be subject-based for 30 points. The examination from the third to the fifth class will cover 40 points in each subject. Each subject from the sixth to the ninth class will have 50 points. Students will take the question wording exam while they are seated at home. The answers will be evaluated by the teachers of the school according to the new published guidelines.
The department made the decision due to the Covid-19 situation. The board leads the assessment process from Class I to VIII through the activity task. Pupils in grades 9 and 10 will have the choice between activity tasks or school exams.
The officials of the program committee said: “It will depend on the schools whether students in class X take the school exams or whether they will be assessed according to the activity task and will be promoted to next year on this. based. “
Schools were forced to assess students through the activity task due to the Covid crisis last year. This was the first time that the task of the activity will be completed in November for the final evaluation.
