Over the past few weeks, the CHSAA office has been in turmoil.
You’ll find hard-working staff members as they prepare for the end of season championships in everything from golf to gymnastics to soccer. The end of the sporting fall season has begun. The trophies, medals and supplies for the championship venues are inspected, packed and prepared for what promises to be an exciting conclusion to our fall sports.
With that in mind, staff were also excited about the start of our student leadership summits.
This year, the CHSAA moved away from the singular student leadership event it used to host (fall conference), with the goal of offering student leadership activities to more students. schools across the state. Speaking with CHSAA Commissioner Rhonda Branford-Green, she said: “The summits are offered at host schools in different parts of the state as we have found that it allows us to reach more students. .
For schools wishing to attend a summit, they can choose from three host sites, with dates ranging from mid-October to mid-November. Schools can register by contacting Sandra Williamson (email@example.com) at the CHSAA office.
Hosting sites and dates:
- Palissade High School – 10/15
- Lycée Limon – 10/29
- Overland High School – 11/13
With the enthusiasm of CHSAA staff, host site coordinators and building administrators, and student leaders looking to showcase the best of their school, it will be another great year for Colorado student leaders and advisors at learn and grow together.
