COLLINSVILLE — State Sen. Rachelle Aud Crowe, D-Glen Carbon, donated school supplies to teachers in School District 10 in the Collinsville Community Unit on Dec. 20.

“Our teachers truly give the greatest gift of all through their patience and empathy for our children,” she said. “Teachers have worked tirelessly for the past two years throughout the pandemic. During giving season, it’s the least I can do to recognize their tremendous work in the classroom by checking off these few items from their wish lists. .”

Educators at Dorris Intermediate School received “You’ve Been Elfed” door hangers listing various school supplies. The teachers chose three items from the list provided by Crowe.

A total of 73 teachers and school support staff received supplies, accumulating a total of 51 packets of sticky notes, 50 packets of dry erase markers, 23 Kleenex boxes, 23 Clorox wipes, 23 boxes of bags bags, 22 boxes of gallon Ziploc bags, 20 boxes of ink pens and seven reams of copy paper.

Crowe thanked Dr. Brad Skertich, Superintendent of Collinsville CUSD 10, and Kevin Stirnaman, Principal of Dorris Intermediate School, for the opportunity to give back to teachers at their school.
