Esports to crown champions in December

With less than a month until the CHSAA crowns its first esports champions, he got to the final details. Ordering rewards, finalizing venue details, and sharing relevant Championship game information with everyone are just some of the final details that CHSAA staff are working on.

“That’s what my job is all about,” said CHSAA Assistant Commissioner Rashaan Davis. “I love this opportunity to welcome a whole new demographic to our membership at another point of access to CHSAA activities. Access to represent their school at the highest level and the opportunity to participate in this competitive activity, in person, with some of the best players from across the state is one of the many things our association excels at.

The CHSAA Esports Championship will take place at Localhost in Lakewood on December 2. The top teams from across the state will play for the championship in two game titles, League of Legends and rocket league. The top eight teams from Rocket League and the top four teams from League of Legends will be invited to the in-person Finals. The day begins at 10 a.m. with the Rocket League Quarter-Finals. The Rocket League Finals will be played at 2 p.m. Meanwhile, League of Legends will enter its first semi-final at 3 p.m., with its championship match at 7 p.m.

“Watching our students compete in a fun, engaging, and rewarding experience like the one Esports provides truly exemplifies what our organization stands for,” said CHSAA Commissioner Mike Krueger, “If you haven’t had the opportunity to watch our children participate in these exciting events, you are truly missing out on something special.
