RESERVE – Glen Smith and Gary Smith, Sr., owners of G. Smith Motorsports, as well as State Senator Gary Smith Jr. were pleased to organize a gift of school supplies for families affected by the hurricane Ida. Volunteers distributed school supplies at REGALA Park in the reserve from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, October 19. St. John the Baptist Parish President Jaclyn Hotard and staff also helped volunteers distribute them.
“As we continue to move forward in our recovery from the effects of Hurricane Ida, we want to make sure the children in our community have the right tools to return to school,” said Glen Smith. “We want our community to know that we are in the same boat, and the importance of supporting those around you, even in the smallest of ways, has a huge impact.”
G. Smith Motorsports, based in St. Rose, is a team and a brand of The Magnolia Companies of LA, LLC. It is owned and operated by brothers Glen Smith and Gary Smith.
The creation of G. Smith Motorsports stems from the Smith’s long-standing love for cars, community, racing, awareness and motorcycles. Over the past few years, the organization has evolved into what it is today: a platform for community engagement, enrichment, and philanthropy from The Magnolia Companies.
