Doha: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education, represented by the private education business sector, has issued general guidelines for school activities and travel to private schools and kindergartens.
The guidelines aim to improve classroom and extracurricular activities in various educational, cultural and developmental areas, and to enrich students’ leisure time for useful things.
The plans for school activities and trips to schools and kindergartens in the State of Qatar are among the important plans that help to achieve educational goals.

In a circular sent to all schools and kindergartens, the Private Education Business Sector stressed the need to adhere to the rules and standards of the guidelines when choosing activities and school trips, in addition to the main ones. conditions related to the necessary approvals, and those required to be followed with regard to the safety and security of the school community.
These guidelines include the main general regulations that help private schools and kindergartens to effectively plan and organize school activities, events and trips, take into account the age group of students and their relevance to to the objectives of the educational program.
It also contains all the rules and regulations subject to the supervision and control of the Department of Private School Affairs, which obliges private schools and kindergartens to implement them during school activities and trips, and through it the safety and security of students are guaranteed, and the educational targets are met by the end of the school year.
The guidelines set out general guidelines for school activities and include the basic (compulsory) activities that all private schools and kindergartens must perform.
It is depicted in Islamic occasions and aims to invite students to adhere to the teachings of true Islam and have good character. Its activities focus on many occasions, such as Eid Al Fitr and Eid Al Adha. It also includes national events and celebrations related to Qatari heritage and aims to instill the values and principles of love for the homeland in students, and to be proud of their homeland in front of all countries, as well as to raise awareness of the importance of preserving national unity. These occasions include, for example, the celebration of Qatar’s National Day on December 18, the occasion of “Garangao” in the middle of the blessed month of Ramadan and the celebration of National Sports Day.
As for general (optional) activities, they aim to make participants aware of the importance of a particular issue and its role in the life of individuals and societies, and these activities include various scientific, social, health, cultural, artistic and entertainment aspects, in particular those related to the objectives and orientations of the country.
The guidelines listed a group of international days that were proposed to be celebrated with certain school activities, due to the importance of educating students about them, including, for example: the International Day for the Protection of the Child. education against attacks, International Arabic Language Day, International Museum Day, International Diabetics Day, International Drama Day, International Day of People with Special Needs, among others.
The framework clarified the conditions for approval of school activities and trips, which are school activities adapted to the age group of students, diversity and inclusion in the choice of school activities and trips.
School activities and trips are tailored to students’ wishes and preferences, as well as the variety of choices of external organizations and institutions when implementing the school trips and activities plan. The general activity guidelines also emphasized that private schools and kindergartens take into account the rules for implementing school activities and trips in the State of Qatar, including, for example, obtaining permits prerequisites for the school activity or the trip of the authorities concerned and the competent authorities. official authorities, and bearing full responsibility for maintaining the safety and security of pupils, and for achieving safety and security conditions, by providing a sufficient number of supervisors and without interrupting school hours.
Activities, trips and educational programs will be counted for 50%, recreational trips for 10%, educational trips for 20% and 20% to be allocated to programs promoting national identity and Qatari heritage in private schools.
Camping inside Qatar (outside the school fence) is for preparatory and secondary school students only, and women are separated from men on separate camping days to ensure values are upheld religious, customs and traditions. Muslim students will perform the prayers on time and should have a suitable place for it. Internal or external trips must be optional, and a written agreement is required for them from the tutor.
As for the regulation of school trips abroad (outside the State of Qatar), private schools must obtain written approvals from parents on the travel log, which includes a detailed explanation of the educational purpose of the trip and the program. Female supervisors for female students, male supervisors for male students will be assigned.
