LAS VEGAS (FOX5) – Those looking to donate this holiday season will once again have the opportunity to do so by visiting a vending machine in a Las Vegas mall.
According to a press release, the Giving Machine will return to downtown Summerlin on November 3 and will remain in the property until January 3, 2022.
Organizers say the “popular vending machine,” which is dubbed the Giving Machine, works in reverse by giving users the ability to purchase a variety of must-have items for local and global charities via the slip of a credit or debit card. No cash donation is accepted.
Donations can be made by purchasing items that range in price from $ 3 to $ 300 and include basic items such as clothing and dental hygiene items, eyeglasses, meals, school supplies and a variety of medical, ophthalmic and dental services.
Other donation possibilities include underwriting college admission and examination fees, vocational training, as well as tents, winter clothing and solar lanterns for refugees, according to the release notes. .
Local charities participating in Las Vegas Giving Machines include:

- Eye care for 4 children
- Three Squares
- Future smiles
- Village of opportunities
Global beneficiaries include the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and CWS Global (Church World Service).
As part of the festivities, Imagine Dragons frontman and Las Vegas native Dan Reynolds will make the first donation at a special event to kick off the holiday season.
