Meijer makes it a bit easier for teachers to stock up on supplies for their classrooms and home offices. The Midwestern chain is showing its appreciation for educators by extending their annual 15% discount on classroom essentials for the rest of the school year.
In recent years, reports indicate that the average teacher has spent $ 750 to $ 1,000 on supplies over the course of a school year out of their own pocket. Meijer wanted to close the financial gap for teachers by continuing to offer their teachers a discount for the entire school year, rather than the months before it.
The extended discount offers savings on home office and school supplies – like paper, pencils, files, and notebooks – as well as craft supplies and hand sanitizer. Other items available for the rebate range from classroom essentials like Crayola, Elmer’s Glue, Sharpies and Post-It to planners, journals and note boards.
Teachers can also earn their mPerks rewards with the 15% discount.
Teachers can take advantage of the discount by showing a current school ID card to their local Meijer customer service. With this school ID, stores provide a paper coupon to redeem when they checkout.
For the remainder of the school year, they can use the discount anytime to purchase school supplies as many times as they want.
