Meijer said the 15% discount is valid until September 6 and is also valid for home office supplies and furniture, children’s clothing and classroom cleaning items.
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Meijer stores are offering a 15% discount to teachers to help get them back to school.
In addition to saving on supplies for their classrooms, including paper, pencils and notebooks, the discount can be applied to furniture and supplies for teachers to maintain a home office and prepare their own children. for the school year. This includes items like desks and other furniture and children’s clothing.
“The upcoming school year may demand flexibility, so finding a way to further reduce the stress on their wallets as they consider their own homes and families for the first day of classes has led us to expand the offerings covered by this year’s discount,” Meijer, Back-to-School Merchandising Director May Graceffa said in a statement.
Teachers in Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin are eligible for the offer. Meijer said teachers must show their school ID to the customer service desk to receive the discount coupon.
The coupon can be used an unlimited number of times until the sale ends on September 6 and will be in addition to offers already offered under the store’s rewards program.
Meijer said they were offering the rebate to help after a year like no other that required teachers to spend even more of their own money. The company pointed to a study by AdoptAClassroom.org that found teachers spent about $745 on supplies during the 2019-2020 school year, but only had a class budget of $212.
The discount also includes items that have become classroom staples during the pandemic, including hand sanitizer and cleaning supplies.
