Ocean View School District provides essential school supplies to students – OECD Newsroom


Ocean View School District Board Chair Gina Clayton-Tarvin and Superintendent Dr. Michael Conroy are happy to provide essential school supplies to students.

Families whose students attend the Ocean View School District won’t need to add school supplies to their shopping lists this year.

The district announced in July that it would provide essential school supplies to all students at their respective school sites when they return to class in September. Ocean View serves more than 8,200 children in kindergarten through eighth grade in the Huntington Beach area.

“Fairness is one of our district’s core values, and we are thrilled to be able to provide essential school supplies to each of our students,” said Gina Clayton-Tarvin, chair of the school district’s board of trustees. ‘Ocean view. “Our parents appreciate what we are doing to prepare students for a successful learning year.”

Although students are encouraged to bring their own supplies, the school district wants families to know that essential educational supplies will be available throughout the year to ensure that the needs of all students are met.

Supplies include:

  • pencils and erasers n° 2 pre-sharpened
  • pencils, markers and colored pencils
  • highlighters
  • glue sticks and tape
  • pens
  • the scissors
  • whiteboard and dry erase markers
  • lined and squared paper, as well as copy paper
  • composition notebooks or spiral notebooks
  • calculator (based on grade and content)
