ORANGE COUNTY, Florida. – The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is preparing students for the upcoming school year at an event Saturday.
The Back to School Bash is giving kids free backpacks, supplies and haircuts for the new school year.

There will also be games, music and prizes for those who visit the event.
Sheriff’s Office Capt. Tory Wright said it was the first time since the pandemic the agency had held the event in person. He said the goal was to get results for families, especially as buying school supplies could be difficult for many as we see the highest rate of inflation in four decades.
“We think this is going to be a huge relief for many parents who might be struggling, and they want to give their children a head start for the next school year and this is our way of helping them do that,” he said. said Wright. said.
The event takes place beginning at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Sheriff’s Office at 2500 West Colonial Drive.
