CHENNAI: The school education department on Friday reissued safety guidelines for the regulation and control of school buses under Tamil Nadu’s motor vehicle law. The ministry said that despite the establishment of several guidelines, many students continue to be involved in accidents.

Under the standards for bus drivers, the circular states that they must have at least five years of experience in driving a similar vehicle, have passed an aptitude test and keep a logbook.
