Love Elementary School received a surprise just before school started this year with a generous donation of school supplies from the local FedEx office.

Senior Principal Michael Sarkissian and Directors of Operations Matthew Timmerman and William Long delivered backpacks, notebooks, pencils, medical supplies and headphones to the school.

“We think it’s important to give back to the community and support local youth. Donations came from employees and their families at the FedEx Jamestown location. We chose Love Elementary School because we felt we could impact as many children as possible in this area.

The donation was made as part of FedEx Cares 50 by 50, which is the company’s journey to positively impact 50 million people around the world by their 50th birthday in 2023. They will achieve this by using the business and logistics expertise and passion of their team members to help solve some of the world’s problems.

Love School is very grateful for the donation for its students.

“What a pleasant surprise it was when we got a call from our local FedEx office asking when they could drop off a delivery of school supplies, which were generously donated by local FedEx employees,” Love Elementary School principal Cindy Johnson said. “Our students will benefit from caring and thoughtful donations. It’s wonderful to have members of our community come together to help others! All of us at Love School appreciate FedEx.
