GREENWICH – Students in the Horizons programs in Brunswick have received free back-to-school supplies, courtesy of Staples of Riverside.
Jose Novoa, general manager of Staples of Riverside, visited the students on Monday to deliver the supplies. It was the first gift of its kind, according to Daniel Griffin, Brunswick’s director of corporate communications.
This year, Horizons at Brunswick is hosting its first fully enrolled program of 130 Greenwich students who achieved grade level or below when they entered kindergarten.
Horizons at Brunswick is an academic and enrichment program for boys from low-income families in Greenwich Public Schools, Kindergarten to Grade 8. The goal of the program is to close the achievement gap. The program is privately funded through philanthropy, but uses spaces made available by Brunswick School. Horizons is a national enrichment program with programs at 10 locations across Connecticut.
