Sports

LAMDA
LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts) was introduced to the SA program last year and has attracted more students this year to Wellington College International Hangzhou. Nine engaged and dedicated students earned well-deserved accolades in their 2021 summer exams. This is a great achievement after just one year. In the United Kingdom great prestige is accorded to pupils who have obtained certificates in this field.
LAMDA exams develop a student’s abilities in a range of skills such as fluent reading, expanding vocabulary to improve self-expression, improving self-confidence in speaking and listening, the creation and defense of arguments. It also encourages students to develop a love of literature, poetry and drama and improves standards of communication through speech.
Fencing
Over the summer, state-of-the-art competitive fencing equipment was installed at the school in response to the number of students choosing to play the sport. Training is now underway to prepare for future competitions.
