Donating to the Creative Reuse Center provides local teachers and students in Phoenix with the essential tools they need to be successful.
PHÉNIX, October 07, 2021– (BUSINESS WIRE) – The University of Phoenix has donated essential school supplies to Treasures 4 Teachers, a “Creative Reuse Center” located in Tempe, AZ. Donated items ranged from classroom supplies to teachers’ lounge necessities and will benefit local students and teachers.
According to a June 2021 survey, teachers in the United States spent more than $ 750 in the 2020/2021 school year out of pocket on school supplies for their students. The goal of Treasures 4 Teachers is to bridge the gap between the need for school supplies and the resources available in the local Phoenix community.
“Without basic learning tools, students face unnecessary barriers to learning. We are delighted to make this donation to Treasures 4 Teachers and assist them in their mission of supporting teachers and helping students become productive members of society, ”said Pamela Roggeman, Ed.D., Dean, College of Education, University of Phoenix.
The University of Phoenix donation included: office, school, and arts and crafts supplies; easels and flip charts; sign supports; trolleys; newsletter and whiteboards; sport equipment; mini-refrigerators; microwave; Keurig machines; board and carnival games; and decorations.
“We are very grateful for the essential donations from the University of Phoenix to support the teachers and students they serve. After a year like no other, the needs of teachers and students for classroom and office supplies have changed. more than doubled. These donations give us the ability to provide more supplies to teachers who desperately need them to comply with health guidelines and ensure that students do not have to share supplies, ”said Barbara Blalock, Founder and Executive Director of Treasures 4 Teachers.
Treasures 4 Teachers is a member-based resource and supply store providing Arizona educators with access to a wide selection of materials, resources, and training that enhance and expand the learning process.
