Klein ISD officials canceled classes on February 4 due to inclement weather caused by winter storm Landon.
According to district officials, the missed school day will not need to be made up due to inclement weather minutes already built into the district’s 2021-2022 school year calendar.
“We will continue to closely monitor the weather and communicate a decision regarding events and extracurricular activities for Friday, February 4 and Saturday, February 5. KISD classes are scheduled to resume on Monday, February 7,” the announcement read. .

In anticipation of inclement weather, Klein ISD officials announced the cancellation of all extracurricular activities on February 3.
“Due to the potential for worsening road conditions, all Klein ISD extracurricular activities are canceled today, Thursday, February 3, for the safety and well-being of our students and staff,” the announcement reads. . “If you have any questions or concerns regarding these activities, please contact the coach or sponsor for further details.”
As of 10:30 a.m. on Feb. 3, district officials had yet to announce a decision on whether classes would take place as scheduled on Feb. 4.
“We continue to closely monitor the weather for a decision regarding Friday and will advise you of the decision as soon as possible,” the announcement read.
