Where to Find Free School Supplies Near Spartanburg, SC

Looking for free school supplies near Spartanburg, SC? Wondering how you’re going to pay for school supplies this year? We’ve compiled a list of community groups and events in Spartanburg where free school supplies will be available for students!

Back to school is usually a hectic and stressful time for most families. For parents, the cost of all the necessary supplies might be too much of a financial burden to handle. The National Retail Foundation reports that families of school-aged children will spend $80.7 billion on supplies this year. Statistics show that this equates to an average of $500-700 per family. With the current uncertainty surrounding so many aspects of our lives, school supplies should be an easier problem to solve.

Often, it is teachers who step in to fill the void when families cannot afford to send needed supplies. Seeing this burden placed on teachers has led many communities to offer free supplies to children before school starts.

We’ve compiled a list of events that not only offer free school supplies, but also other valuable resources families might need as the new school year begins.

Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, many annual events included in this list have been cancelled. We will update this information as events are announced.
