Uber announced that it has partnered with Office Depot to deliver office and school supplies directly to shoppers.
Starting August 15, customers will be able to choose from more than 900 Office Depot and OfficeMax locations across America and have supplies delivered to their doorstep through the Uber Eats app.
“We know it’s the busiest time of the year for many, with back to school and even back to work, at Uber we’re always looking for ways to make people’s lives easier by helping them get everything they need. what they need, when they need it, delivered to their doorstep,” said Christian Freese, head of new verticals for Uber Eats in the U.S. and Canada. “Whether it’s a shortage printer paper or an emergency glue stick for a school project, Uber Eats customers can find what they need to handle any school or work supply need with Office Depot on the platform.”

Customers who are members of Uber One, the company’s monthly subscription service, will receive special benefits. That means free shipping and a 5% discount on all orders over $15.
This new delivery option is part of a larger push the mobility company has embarked on to move beyond food delivery, whether prepared or in the form of groceries. In recent months, Uber has purchased a number of smaller startups, including Postmates, Cornershop and Drizly, reports The Verge. It has also partnered with Gopuff, which specializes in delivering items like alcohol, beauty products and pet supplies, as well as over-the-counter medications.
